I’m A Mom : Imagine I’m not there all the time

*Artikel ini actually ditulis oleh Leonny bulan September tahun lalu, but we guess this is a very nice one that we need to share to you all.

One of the many beautiful things about being a fulltime mommy is that I get to see my children grow.

I saw their first smiles. Heard their first giggles. Saw their first stumbles.

But. As much as I’m there for my two children almost 24/7, I realise I can’t be with them ALL THE TIME.

Anya started going to her nursery school in January last year, and way before she did, I knew I needed to accept the whole idea of having a school-going child.

It’s the start of NOT being there for her.

I remember thinking, … what if she refused to participate in class?

Or,
What if she’s bullied?
What if she played in the playground and put her fingers in her mouth?
What if a friend who’s down with cough and runny nose suddenly sneezed all over her?

(Btw, when she started going to school, she too started having more frequent runny noses and coughs. AND, passed it down to Vai! So it was then too when I started to realise the importance of maintaining a strong body immune system as much as we can)

And Vai … he’s starting nursery in less than THREE months. (*now he already is)

*Yikes*

Soon I’ll have TWO school-going kids! (*actually now Anya and Vai are already going to school)

When I look at my two kids today, I know there are absolutely no reasons for me not to say thanks to God.

I know I can’t always be there with them and I’ll do what I can as a mom who wants what’s best for my kids.

BUT you know what, … the biggest assurance I have is knowing that God is always with them.

Watching over them, even when I’m away or asleep.

Loving them, more than I could ever love them.
